Day 1 was frustrated. We were bombarded with information:
- set up our laptops and install all software you needed with Craig and Robbin.
- introduction to internal social network Convo.
- meeting with Dirk Strobel, who described us The Information Lab structure and hierarchy and also demonstrate us (with Tableau of course) company growth since it was founded.
- meeting with head coach Carl Allchin, who scared us with timetable and training intensity despite his great sense of humor.
- Meet & Greet with trainee of previous cohort. And again a lot of information ;) With useful tips and socialize advices .
Day 2 was much more relaxed. It was all day Alteryx training with Robbin. Still intensive but breaks in every 40 minutes helped keep mind clear.
Day 3 all day of Alteryx training with a lot of practical exercises aaaand "Hi imposter syndrome". It took me a bit more time then most of others to understand and finish exercises. That made me feel upset in the end of the day but then I remembered that I should track my progress without comparison myself to others. On Monday I knew nothing about Alteryx and now I can do exercises even if slowly.
Day 4 we met Clair Ward, who told us about company benefits, and Benedetta Tagliaferri, who described mentorship, mental health and development of the consultants.
The rest of the day we spent with Tableau Prep Fundamentals by Head Coach Carl Allchin. I found myself enjoying Tableau Prep: it easier than Alteryx; more user friendly interface and description of functions absolute love.
It worth to mention that Carl is brilliant coach who explains everything in great details. It helps to see a bigger picture and understand information properly.
Day 5 our first project day. Whole morning we spent working at our own projects. the goal was to find additional data set, clean up it with Tableau Prep or Alteryx (up to you) and implement it to your original application to the Data School to improve your analysis. At 1.30 we started our presentation. I was literally freeze from fear. The most struggling thing to me presentation in English. It seems impossible especially after listening to client presentation from DS28.
