Calculated Fields for the Lazy - Tip Week

So this week’s project is to blog a tip each day.

My first tip of the week is for people who like a shortcut.

There are loads of different ways to create a calculated field (here’s a blog that lists them out).

But once you’ve opened the calculation window, you don’t have to type out your whole calculation!

The Tip

Drag the dimension or measure you want to include in your calculation in to the calculation window from the side pane or your worksheet view.

It may not always be easier than just typing it but this particularly handy with things like dateparts or table calculations.
