Dashboard week day 2 - cat tracker

Today is the day 2 of the dashboard week. Today my teammate and me need to visualize a dataset about the cat movement tracker.

When I received this data, I am not so sure how to deal with it. I have spent a long time looking through the whole documentation. As the dataset comes from a research related to cat predation impact and I thought there would be a lot of killing observation data. So after a very brief exploration of the data, I sketched the following dashboard. Just want to show the demographic of the tracked cats and the relationship between their killing and other factors, such as age and home range.

However, it is not feasible, as least not within the available time. The cat distance can go really far away from the home range and obviously they were carried by people for travelling purpose. As a result, the recorded prey number is irrelavent to the movement. It is just a number to show the number of preys the cat bring to home. Therefore, I have made my dashboard as follows:

I also plan to put a google map view here. I thought it would be interesting that when you click a point on the map, you can see the street view where the cat goes. So I tried hard to see how to do the google API and spend nearly a hour to hope it works but turns out it didn't. In order to call the API, I also need a server to host the html file which I don't have. As a result, I stopped wrestling with the monster. But still one of the my main challenges is that my time management skill waits to be improved.

My biggest reflection on that: don't struggle and always think the possibility before you do. Otherwise you will waste a lot of time.
