Want to start your Tableau Journey but don't know where to begin? 🌼
I often get asked if there are any learning resources I recommend for learning Tableau Desktop, so I thought it would be nice to write a blog compiling a list of resources I recommend checking out, along with some tips for anyone starting out!

1. Learning Tableau Desktop
You can find all sorts of how-to videos and tutorials on learning Tableau Desktop here!
We share loads of amazing tips and techniques on learning Tableau Desktop through our blogs. This includes things we have learned throughout training at The Data School, as well as things we may have picked-up after!

Explore Tableau Public. There are some great Learning Tableau visualisations you can use to gain inspiration, download and learn from by opening up the workbook and reverse engineering them.
2. Participate in Community Projects
Some amazing community projects to get started with for all skill levels include Makeover Monday and Back 2 Viz Basics. Once you're feeling ready to take your Tableau skills to the next level, why not give some Workout Wednesday challenges a go!
These are all great ways of building up your Tableau Public portfolio.
Follow your passions and visualise data you find interesting by participating in other community projects - whether thats Games, Music, Sports, Healthcare or Education!

Try out some Preppin' Data challenges to practice and improve your data preparation skills.
3. Get involved!
Participate in Tableau User Group Events. Gain inspiration from other Tableau users in the community and grow your skills together.
Share your work and ask for Feedback
Asking for feedback is a great way to level up quicker - you can share your work on LinkedIn or Twitter (...now X), use the tag #datafam, and ask for some feedback / state that you're open to recieving feedback!
It might seem a bit scary at first, but everyone is really friendly and you'll learn so much faster by engaging with other skilled users.
Everyone learns at a different pace 🌿...
