Back to Basics: Alteryx Keyboard Shortcuts

Inspired by DSNY 4’s Sabrina Vasquez and her blog about Tableau keyboard shortcuts, I thought it would be a good idea to share some keyboard shortcuts for Alteryx Designer as well!

PC shortcuts will be bolded while the Mac shortcuts will be italicized.

Shortcuts using F1 - F10:

F1

  F1

  Opens the help page for the selected tool

F2

  F2

  Opens the annotation window for the selected tool

Ctrl + F4

  ⌘ + F4

  Closes the workflow

Alt + F4

  ⌘ + F4

  Closes Alteryx Designer

F5

  F5

  Refreshes the workflow

Shift + F10

  ⌘ + F10

  Opens the context menu (the context menu varies based selected item: canvas,   tool, or connection)


Shortcuts to Select and Align Tools:

Space Bar + Left Click

  Space Bar + Left Click

  Pan the canvas

Ctrl + A

  ⌘ + A

  Selects all items

Ctrl + D

  ⌘ + D

  Deselects all items

Ctrl + Shift + -

  ⌘ + Shift + -

  Aligns tools horizontally

Ctrl + Shift + +

  ⌘ + Shift + +

  Aligns tools vertically


Shortcuts managing workflows:

Ctrl + R

  ⌘  + R

  Runs workflow or stops workflow from running

Ctrl + O

  ⌘  + O

  Opens workflow

Ctrl + R

  ⌘  + R

  Runs workflow or stops workflow from running

Ctrl + F4

  ⌘ + F4

  Closes the workflow

Ctrl + S

  ⌘  + S

  Saves Workflow

Ctrl + Shift + S

  ⌘  + Shift + S

  Saves all open workflows

Ctrl + N

  ⌘  + N

  Opens new workflow

Ctrl + Tab

  ⌘  + Tab

  Moves between open workflows


Shortcuts to Show and Hide Tools and Windows:

Ctrl + Alt + T

  ⌘  + Alt + T

  Shows or hides the tool palette

Ctrl + Alt + V

  ⌘  + Alt + V

  Shows or hides the overview window

Ctrl + Alt + R

  ⌘  + Alt + R

  Shows or hides the results window

Ctrl + Alt + C

  ⌘  + Alt + C

  Shows or hides the configuration window

Ctrl + Alt + D

  ⌘  + Alt + D

  Shows or hides the interface designer


Shortcuts for Magnification:

Ctrl + + / -

  ⌘  + + / -

  Zooms in or out

Ctrl + 0

  ⌘  + 0

  Zooms to the workflow or selection
