Alteryx: How to Save Your Tool Configuration

Sometimes you need your workflow to remember the field settings for a particular tool. For example, if you’re building an iterative macro, you want the macro output to have exactly the same configuration as the macro input, so there’s no error when the workflow loops.

To save the field names and data types, go to the Select tool in question, click on Options > Save/Load > Save Field Configuration. Go to your new Select tool and click Options > Save/Load > Load Field Configuration to find (and then load) the previous configuration.

This method also works for Join and Formula tools.
