A few months ago I started the application process to the DS and in the blink of an eye, I just completed my first month as a DSer from the 35th cohort. It's impressive how time flies by. At this point, I want to reflect on my experiences in The Data School.
I couldn't join DS at a better time as in our first week we had our Xmas Party in Spain - yeah! Xmas Party is in October for TIL 😄. Besides enjoying the beaches and restaurants in Sitges, I had time to increase my network as I met fellow DSers from NYC and Germany and many other TILers from around the world.
Back in the office, the next two weeks were very intense. I got my Alteryx Foundation Micro-Credential (beginner) and Alteryx Designer Core Certification (intermediate). These achievements were only possible because of the support my cohort and our coaches provided me.
In these last two weeks, we had sessions with two of the most famous coaches: our Global Head Coach Andy Kriebel and Tim Ngwena - aka Tableau Tim. Sometimes I can't believe that a few months ago, I was watching videos from their YouTube channels and now we have them in our meeting room teaching us all about Tableau.
Not gonna lie, it has not been easy to deal with this high-intensity training. I had ups and downs trying to figure out where to focus my energy among Alteryx and Prep challenges, Makeover Mondays, writing blogs etc. It has been possible because I can count on my coaches, DSers, and TILers. They all have been very supportive so far!
All in all, at the first-month mark all I can say is that it’s been a fun ride. A lot of things were learned and even more things to cover in the future. The team is going strong and I’m happy to be a part of it.
