When it comes to making Dashboards in Tableau, one of the elements I enjoy most is the design and making it look good. I really enjoy making dashboards in different styles that fit different aesthetics for different purposes. At the start I found it quite challenging to come up with design inspiration but here are a few use full tips help you.
(1) Tableau Public

Its not the most inspired idea, but its usually the most effective, when you know what your dashboard is going to be about, try looking for similar projects on public. It can give you an idea of not only what similar Viz's look like but what sort of content should go on there. For example, if you are going to create a Sales reporting dash, search for Sales dashboards, or if you are creating work for a particular industry, take a look at similar areas for inspiration.

(2) Pinterest

Pinterest is another great source of inspiration, often work shared on there is designed to look pretty so you wont have to sift through lots of mediocre work to find something good. With Pinterest I like to search for '* visualization' depending on what I want to create, this gives me lots of ideas of how my Viz can look, a different approach can be just searching the industry or company your working with to give to inspo for things like colours etc.

(3) Twitter

Like Tableau Public, Twitter is a great way to discover visualizations and share your own, you can use the #datafam to find posts by likeminded people for inspiration or look through people submissions to things like makeover Monday and workout Wednesday.

(4) Convo

This one is more specific to people who work at Til, but convo is a great source of inspiration, you can look through reflective logs to see work other members have created for specific clients or just scroll through the feed to see what people are showing off.
