Yoan Caboste

First introduced to data and statistics through a university module, Yoan then learned Python during a Cloud Computing Bootcamp. This enabled him to explore real-world data using Python and PostgreSQL, where he scraped, cleaned, and organized global news data. By applying sentiment analysis to compare how countries approached similar topics, he was excited by how coding and analysis can come together to answer complex, interesting questions.

Yoan holds a degree in International Business, specializing in French and Mandarin, with experience living and working in both countries. His studies included modules such as Principles in Business Analytics, Strategic Decision Making, and Sustainable Operations.

During his time at The Data School, Yoan has demonstrated a knack for delivering actionable insights through:

  • Analyzing year-on-year changes in destination and hotel popularity, enabling targeted marketing strategies.

  • Optimizing corporate risk training modules to identify which teams need help in specific areas.

  • Managing a project to extract and clean untapped data for analysis, utilizing APIs and Alteryx.

  • Conducting early supply chain analysis for a retail store, identifying critical delays and their impact on business operations.

Certified in Tableau, Alteryx, and Microsoft Azure, Yoan continually augments his expertise through courses on platforms like DataCamp, learning topics ranging from Python, SQL & Machine Learning.
