Thomas Duong

Thomas’s passion for data began during his undergraduate studies, where he became fascinated by quantitative research methods, particularly using R. His interest in social and political development at the time led him to investigate the impact of government policies and spending, especially their influence on support for radical political parties in the UK and Europe. Later, during his postgraduate studies in International Political Economy, Thomas focused on the complexities of environmental governance and the green transition, with a special emphasis on the economic drivers in post-Soviet countries.

During his studies, Thomas took on several internships and extracurricular roles that helped him refine his research, presentation, and project management skills. His experience at the Ditchley Foundation and on the Student Partnership Committee at LSE was particularly valuable.

Now, as a Data School Consultant at the Information Lab, Thomas is deepening his knowledge of data while building the essential skills to become a successful consultant. He’s particularly interested in applying his background in policymaking and political and economic analysis to various industries.

In his free time, Thomas is passionate about martial arts, especially Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He also enjoys hiking and spending time in nature and has a strong interest in mixology.
