Tara Robinson

Tara graduated from the University of Kent in 2022 with a 2:1 upper-class degree in Sociology with a year in Data Analytics discovering her desire to work with analytics, visualizations, and problem-solving.

During her time at the Data School, she has worked on a variety of projects which have required a range of skills from using APIs in Alteryx and creating visualizations further to help tell a story. She has worked on client projects at the data school, working with a range of companies from Pacemaker to St James Palace (SJP). She is a supporting member in the projects and the project manager showing her ability to lead and support her team throughout.

For her first placement, she was on a bench but had a very proactive attitude and was willing to take on a very wide range of tasks. She was involved in various activities, from teaching DS38 and DS39 to providing lectures at Warwick University. She has worked on a range of internal projects as well, one of the biggest projects she took a lead role in was creating the new mock dataset and schema which will be used for future training.

During her second and third placements, she worked as a consultant for BAE Systems, utilizing Tableau and Alteryx to deliver a variety of high-quality projects. Her responsibilities included adding new features, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring that performance remained optimal. In addition, she mentored permanent BAE team members and demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills by effectively managing challenging stakeholders.

Tara's final placement is currently with Manchester Airport Group where she will have to face some tricky clientele, so will have to bring her people management and bring Power BI skills to light.

Tara has gained some certifications which include:

  • Alteryx Foundational Micro-Credential

  • Alteryx Core Certificate

  • Alteryx Advanced Certification

  • Alteryx Server Administration

  • Tableau Certified Data Analyst
