Shivam graduated with a first-class MSci in Physics & Philosophy from King’s College London, writing dissertations on quantum tunnelling and modern misconceptions surrounding the nature and purpose of ancient philosophy. Alongside and after his studies, he spent over seven years working in the education sector, including five years specialising in SEN support, and has taught or tutored maths, further maths, physics and chemistry up to A-level.
Through his work in education, Shivam developed strong communication and interpersonal skills, frequently adapting his approach to explain complex concepts to students with a wide range of learning needs. However, he felt that the analytical and problem-solving skills developed during his degree were underutilised. The Data School presented the perfect opportunity to bring together his skills, allowing him to remain in a people-facing role while applying analytical thinking to complex, real-world problems.
Outside of data, Shivam is passionate about philosophy, viewing it as a praxis, and enjoys reading and gaming.
