Shahbaz Khan

Having graduated with a degree in Biomedical Sciences, Shahbaz’s career includes working within the NHS to working as an Audit Associate for PwC. During his past work experience,  Shahbaz gained the realisation that his interest lay in interpreting data and leveraging the insights found to solve problems. This led to him pursuing his interests by joining The Information Lab.

While at The Information Lab, Shahbaz has gained 2 years of consulting experience in industries such as professional services (Azets), finance (SJP), sports (Swindon Town FC), the charity sector (The Firefighters Charity, Learning on Screen) and transport and logistics (IAG Cargo, Great British Rail).

 

Previous projects include

  • Delivering bespoke all day in-person Alteryx and Tableau training to groups of 20+ clients on various occasions.

  • Developed and implemented an Alteryx app that automated the aggregation and transformation of data from approximately 50 different teams.

  • Created a Tableau dashboard that tracks the progress of multiple projects across the teams, improving the accuracy and timeliness of project delivery.

  • Created and deployed a suite of Tableau dashboards allowing the client to monitor 147 KPIs across five departments This provided a real-time performance snapshot of ongoing projects. Thereby enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of performance tracking.

  • Won an IMPACT award while at a placement for contribution to the company in collaboration.

 

During his time working at various clients, Shahbaz has also gained valuable experience in stakeholder management, working in agile and waterfall environments as well as project management from working within a team to leading them. He also has extensive soft skills to pull from, from his time within the NHS and at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Shahbaz has gained Certifications and Skills in the following areas:

 

  • Tableau Certified Data Analyst

  • Power BI Data Analyst (PL-300)

  • Alteryx Designer Core

  • Alteryx Designer Advanced

  • Knowledge of SQL (See GitHub link for examples of code), Salesforce, Snowflake and AWS

  • Developing skills in Python

 

Outside of work Shahbaz is an avid Manchester United supporter, as well as having a passion for gaming, working out and travelling whenever he gets the chance.
