Samantha Fitzsimmons graduated from Northeastern University with a Master’s of Science in speech-language pathology in 2009, and practiced as a speech-language pathologist for 14 years in the healthcare industry. Throughout her career, Samantha became adept in quickly interpreting quantitative and qualitative assessment data to help her patients understand their own communication and swallowing impairments, which supported setting realistic goals to improve their quality of life. By focusing on her patients’ priorities, Samantha has helped her patients quickly achieve their goals. Samantha has always prided herself on her ability to explain complex clinical concepts to audiences varying in skill level, which has supported collaboration with patients, their families and their medical teams. Toward the end of Samantha’s speech pathology career, she added to her existing skill set by learning Tableau, Excel and SQL via a project-based data immersion program with CareerFoundry. Now Samantha plans to use her unique skill set as a data analytics consultant to guide businesses in understanding their data.
