Rahim Afsana

Rahim Afsana brings together a background in biomedical science, bioinformatics and data analytics. After studying Biomedical Science at Kingston University, she went on to complete an MSc in Applied Bioinformatics at King’s College London, where she worked with large and complex biological datasets and developed her programming and analytical skills.

Her experience includes analysing RNA-seq and clinical data, building databases and interactive dashboards, and applying machine learning to real-world datasets. She has worked with Python, R, SQL and Tableau across both scientific and business-focused projects, giving her experience of approaching data from different perspectives.

She particularly enjoys the investigative side of analytics, working through a dataset, identifying what is significant, and finding a clear way to communicate the result. She is now developing her skills as a Data Analytics Consultant and is interested in applying data to a wider range of problems beyond the scientific field.

Outside of work, Rahim loves travelling and discovering new places and enjoys baking when she’s at home. She also likes keeping active through badminton and padel, especially when there’s a bit of friendly competition involved.
