After graduating from Trinity Dublin with a 1st Class Honours B.A. Mathematics and English Literature, I taught in a kindergarten in South Korea that helped educate students in a number of academic disciplines so that they could be proficient communicators in English across a variety of academic topics.
I then graduated with an Msc. in Mathematics from King's College London. Over the duration of this degree I completed a module related to machine learning, in which I was given concrete experience with both training and datasets in order to understand supervised and unsupervised machine learning.
While completing my Master's degree I worked part-time for a coffee delivery company that aimed to provide algorithmic recommendations of coffee beans with respect to a customer's taste preferences (referring to categories such as roast lightness/darkness, sweetness, acidity, whether they drink their coffee with milk etc.).
These experiences helped spark an interest in data, which directed and motivated my application to the Data School.
During training at the Data School I led a project for a well-known football club that focused on comparing players across different age groups to identify whether players should be promoted and tracking players' form across 180 different metrics.
Outside of the Data School I am an avid reader (from novels to novellas to non-fiction, including journalistic publications like the Financial Times and the New Yorker). I also enjoy both video games and board games, and am a keen follower of European football.
