Kate Joyce

Kate’s data career began in Ireland after graduating with a Bachelor’s in Social Science from Maynooth University, where she first developed her data analytics skills using SPSS—an experience that ignited her passion for the field. She initially worked in public health, focusing on the surveillance of infectious diseases and performing data entry, analysis, and cleansing roles.

Eager to expand her expertise, Kate joined the Data School where she became an advanced user in Tableau, Tableau Prep and Alteryx, also gaining proficiency in Power BI and SQL. During her time at the Data School, Kate has gained diverse industry experience, leveraging ODBC connections to integrate data from Xero and contributing to insightful market analyses using product intelligence solutions.

Her industry-spanning projects include:

  • Creating a strategic toolkit in Tableau for a Creative Advertising company, automating 9 hours of manual reporting each week.

  • Overseeing a Tableau Server upgrade from 1 to 3 nodes for a Strategic Consultancy firm.

  • Developing 40+ Tableau dashboards for a Travel Management company, enabling real-time insights for 200 KPIs.

  • Maintaining and debugging Tableau Prep flows to power an office utilisation dashboard, highlighting performance against predefined standards and delivering actionable insights to high-level stakeholders.

These experiences have equipped Kate with the versatility to deliver impactful data solutions, streamline processes, enhance data access, and provide valuable insights to support thousands of users across diverse industries.

In her free time, Kate enjoys playing the guitar, going to concerts, watching football, and cooking.
