Karen D. Hamilton

Karen D. Hamilton  is a life-long New Yorker who attended a Data School recruitment event in March 2023 and is now an inaugural member of the Data School New York. She is also new to the tech and data industries. Her passion for data analysis was kindled during previous experiences in research and urban planning.

Karen delivered Visual Best Practices, Level of Detail Calculations, and Beginners, Intermediate, & Advanced Tableau Prep enablement sessions to prospective clients. Karen serves as a Tableau Consultant for Fremont Banks ETL team.  During her  placement with Vanguard, Karen was a Tableau Server administrator and developed a dashboard prototype for division buy-in. She continues to hone her technical skills by completing Alteryx, SQL and Tableau challenges. She enjoys recruiting for future cohorts and planning Data School events.

Karen is a graduate of both SUNY (MURP) and CUNY (BA).. She is passionate about data informed policies and programs to address social determinants of health. She advocates for more reliant, accessible transit service. She is an avid reader who also enjoys trying new restaurants, cooking, walking (to counteract all the eating), traveling, Broadway shows, photography and sketching.
