Jose De La Rosa

Currently in his third placement with the Information Lab, Jose De La Rosa is refining his technical experience and solving complex problems using Tableau and Alteryx. Over the past year, he has been placed at the Irvine Company as a data analytics consultant, contributing to their cloud migration project. His work involved migrating workbooks, datasources, and creating Alteryx workflows to transfer users, groups, permissions, and extract refreshes. He demonstrated adaptability and problem-solving skills by troubleshooting errors in workbooks and datasources, ensuring smooth functionality within the Tableau Cloud environment.

In addition to these technical contributions, Jose has implemented resilience frameworks to enhance data integrity and reliability, addressed data quality issues, and provided ad-hoc training sessions to support analytics modernization initiatives. His hands-on approach and dedication have played a critical role in ensuring the success of these projects.

Jose’s journey into data analytics began with a Bachelors in Computer Engineering. During his studies, he completed innovative projects such as a self-balancing robot, a house security system, and an arm gripper robot, each emphasizing the importance of data collection, manipulation, and storage. These experiences laid the foundation for his strong analytical and technical skills.

The challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic shifted his career trajectory, leading him to join COOP, where he developed essential data analysis skills in Google Analytics, Python, SQL, Excel, and Tableau. At COOP, Jose worked on a client project that showcased the transformative power of data, helping organizations and individuals make informed decisions based on insights derived from comprehensive analysis. Now a Tableau/Alteryx Consultant at the Information Lab, Jose continues to refine his expertise and expand his impact as a data analyst.
