Jia Yan Ng

With a BEng degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and an MSc in Management & Data Science, Jia Yan is no stranger to the world of research, data and analytics. During her master's studies, she worked part-time in two academic research teams in the field of modeling and data analytics, primarily using Python and R to analyze data.

When she came across Tableau Public and applied to the Information Lab, her quick adaptability to the technology enabled her first Tableau visualization to be selected as a "Viz Of The Day." With her growth-oriented mindset and can-do attitude, she is constantly acquiring new knowledge in the field of Data Science. She has extensive knowledge of the various technologies in the data analytics landscape. She earned the Alteryx Designer Advanced Certification, Snowflake SnowPro Core Certification, Tableau Data Analyst Certification and PowerBI Data Analyst Associate Certification.

Throughout her time at The Information Lab, Jia Yan has worked with Aon, EDF, AELTC (The Wimbledon Championships), Genomics England on longer projects, where she supported their data teams in building data pipelines and analysing and visualising their data. She also participated in a VizForSocialGood pro bono project for the UNDP Accelerator Labs Network, where her Tableau visualization was selected as one of the finalists.

Jia Yan is a nature lover who enjoys cycling and hiking, but also pursues indoor activities such as yoga, meditation and watching F1.
