Henry Mak

Henry joined The Information Lab/The Data School having graduated with a degree in Physics from the University of Nottingham. Professionally, he has previous experience in numerous industries including teaching, retail, and events management.

As an experienced Tableau and Alteryx consultant, Henry has multiple client experiences across a wide range of industries. He's enjoyed success with his first placement at City & County Healthcare, his second at PwC UK, his third at IAG Loyalty (also known as Avios), and his fourth at Inchcape Shipping Services.

These placements gave exposure to, but not limited to:

  • Dashboarding for board-level executives
  • Data mart design
  • Invoice automation
  • Web scraping via Alteryx and Python
  • Finance, marketing, survey, loyalty, and procurement data

His journey with data began with his degree, but during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic he decided to advance his skills and started using Tableau. After only four months, one of his dashboards were selected as the “Viz Of The Day'' by Tableau for demonstrating exceptional qualities in several categories. Along with this, he has since obtained the Tableau Desktop Certified Associate, Tableau Certified Data Analyst, Alteryx Designer Advanced Certification, and a second Viz of The Day.

Outside of work, Henry is interested in a variety of things. These include Formula 1, (Fantasy) Premier League, keeping fit, and video games.
