Gabriela Mitache

Gabriela graduated with a degree in Accounting and Finance with a year in industry from The University of Manchester. She did her year in industry in finance for a global transport and logistics company; During her placement, she got involved in a data analytics and visualization project in Excel. While she loved the creative and analytical side of it, she soon realized what a tedious process this was in a tool like Excel, which prompted her to download Tableau to explore alternatives to Excel.

She was instantly drawn to its functionality and simplicity and went on to do multiple courses online to learn more about the tool. She then discovered The Data School and was immediately drawn to the opportunity to learn and work in a topic that she was already interested in. Since joining, Gabriela has worked extensively with both Tableau and Alteryx across her training and particularly placements in the Pharmaceutical and Financial Services industries.

Outside of work, Gabriela actively gets involved in different volunteering projects; She’s been volunteering since high-school, and over the years she got involved in various projects both nationally and internationally with different foundations . Being part of The Information Lab allowed her to combine her interest for data and volunteering by getting involved in the pro bono consulting program TIL+.

In her spare time, Gabriela enjoys cooking, travelling, exploring new places, going on hikes, and spending time with her friends.
