Fuad’s interest in computing and video games sparked a passion for technology which later branched off into data. Curious to understand the value of data in the real world and the insights they create he finally stumbled across Tableau. Although, he struggled with Tableau initially he quickly learned the capabilities of the software and is now determined to utilise data visualisation. In his spare time he loves to play sports, something that definitely brings out his competitive side, and having played almost 7 years at Essex County Cricket Club his progressive mindset is geared to take on the world of data.

Growing up he saw his father build a business having immigrated from Bangladesh with very few resources. Being exposed at a young age to his father’s trade in the catering business really strengthened his business acumen and understanding of customer relations. Now he is keen on perspective and improving communication skills to become a great data consultant!

Dashboard Week: Day - 2 ATUS
The Task Today we were tasked with looking at the American Time Use Survey (ATUS) which measures a range of activities that people spend time doing. Trying to interpret the data was quite difficult initially as the structure provided by the Bureau of Labor Statistics was not very tableau friendly

Tableau Tips #1 - Adding to Context
One great thing about tableau is the number of options available to sort your data. However, if you’re not careful, ranking complex data can become misleading unless context is added! For example, you want the top 10 most sold products across the US

First Use Case With Alteryx
The first week has passed by and it has been fairly intense, to say the least. The majority of the week was spent on Alteryx, a completely new software that we were introduced to. What really surprised me about Alteryx was how effective it is for preparing and manipulating data
