Prior to joining The Information Lab/Data School Emma graduated with a history degree from Loughborough University. After graduating, Emma worked as a sales adviser during the pandemic whilst deciding which career path she would like to follow. The analytical nature of her degree was something she greatly enjoyed and this inspired her to find a career that would incorporate this skill into her work. As someone that greatly enjoys learning new skills and problem solving, applying for The Data School was the perfect opportunity for Emma to enter a career in data analytics.
Joining The Data School allowed Emma to build her knowledge of Tableau and Alteryx from scratch and she was able to achieve the Alteryx Designer Advanced certification in just over 2 months of using the platform. Emma was also delighted to have made it to the short list of the World Data Visualization Prize 2023 for a dashboard designed in Tableau which highlighted the differences in education between countries.
As part of Emma’s placements she has worked as a Reporting Analyst and a Tableau Developer gaining experience in maintaining and developing Tableau dashboards, developing quality assurance processes and being a Tableau server admin.
