Elaine Yuan

After teaching English abroad in Taiwan and Japan, Elaine discovered her passion for data analytics and Tableau through a bootcamp program in New York City. Now at The Information Lab, Elaine excels at organizing data and uncovering insights through data visualization. She has an eye for design and enjoys the process of iteration, collaborating with stakeholders to develop intuitive dashboards to answer their critical business questions.

In her placement at Fremont Bank, Elaine automated the commercial loan reporting process, by preparing a user-friendly data extract on Tableau Server and developing 12 wireframes for stakeholders to monitor trends regularly and independently, which saved ~75 hours of manual work a month and increased report availability by 650%.

In her current placement at the Irvine Company, Elaine continues to design and refine intuitive, user-friendly Tableau dashboards to empower users. One of her favorite projects is the Customer 360 dashboard for senior executives, which offers a high-level overview of offices, retail properties, and apartments. This dashboard, the first at the company to integrate data from all three divisions, highlights their strategic alignment.

As an active member of the #datafam community, Elaine is co-leading the new API (Asian Pacific Islander) Tableau User Group in North America. In her free time, Elaine enjoys playing board games, trying new foods and cuisines, browsing her local Buy Nothing group, and planning her next travel excursion.
