Asha’s journey into data began with a technical work placement at the engineering organisation AMEC, where she used Python to analyse ultrasonic data. She went on to study Business, Mathematics, and Statistics at the London School of Economics, where she discovered a strong passion for data analytics and developed her skills in R through data-focused modules.
More recently, Asha pivoted into the data engineering space and has deepened her Python, SQL, and dbt skills while learning the core principles of modern data engineering. She now works as an Analytics Engineer at Virgin Media O2 within the supply chain domain, where she has migrated reports, led a project to build a new business layer for the mobile supply chain team, and played a key role in onboarding and mentoring new team members, including coaching dbt.
Asha has built deep expertise in Tableau and Alteryx, specialising in transforming messy, complex data into clear and actionable insights. Her work was recognised with a Viz of the Day award - an achievement she has since earned for a second time. She has also featured in the #TableauNext2024 article and voted a Tableau Public Featured Author.
She has gained extensive experience across a range of industries, working as a BI Analyst for an asset management company, a charity, and a furniture retailer. In these roles, she used Tableau to deliver impactful analytics and, in one placement, used Alteryx to automate and resolve master data issues before they affected downstream reporting, significantly improving data reliability and efficiency.
In her spare time, Asha loves to do yoga, painting and travelling; she finds it pushes her out of her comfort zone and encourages her to try new things.
