Asha Daniels

Asha's journey into the world of data began during a work placement at an engineering organisation AMEC, where she used Python to analyse ultrasonic data. From there she did her undergraduate years at the London School of Economics, studying Business, Mathematics, and Statistics. It was during this time that she discovered her true passion for data analytics, learning to use R in her data-related modules.

At the Data School Asha has built an expertise in Alteryx and Tableau to transform messy data into clear and actionable insights. In her first couple of months working at the data school, Asha was awarded a Viz of the Day.

Throughout her journey at the Data School, Asha gained valuable practical experience by working in diverse industries. This includes taking on the responsibilities of a project manager at a furniture retail company to help them understand the common causes of faults and damages to their products and which channels they should focus on to reduce their costs. She has additionally worked in projects within the police sector and freight transportation.

In her spare time, Asha loves to do yoga, history and travelling; she finds it pushes her out of her comfort zone and encourages her to try new things.

Pivots in Alteryx
Pivots in Alteryx feel a little confusing, for starters they aren't even called Pivots, they're called Crosstabs and reverse Pivots are Transposes. Once you get going everything starts to make sense and you realise that Alteryx gives quite a lot of control over the output
