Andrew Tobin

Andrew graduated with distinction in 2023 from the University of Cambridge, earning an MPhil in Linguistics. His thesis leveraged computational methods to extract insights from text, honing his expertise in Python and sparking a passion for data analytics. Previously, he earned a First-class MA from the University of Edinburgh, excelling in Statistics (84%) and developing skills in hypothesis testing and data visualization.

In his current developer role with Amex GBT, Andrew applies his technical skills to support data-driven projects and process improvements. His contributions have included:

  • Alteryx workflows: Restructuring and integrating diverse client travel data sources.

  • Tableau dashboards: Streamlining over 100 calculations as part of a quality control program.

  • Automation: Developing a Python-based web scraper to enhance data collection efficiency.
