Abby Poon

Abby worked as a company secretary at a listed company and a private equity firm before joining the Data School, where she developed a strong business acumen, keen attention to detail, and a solid professional foundation.

During her training at the Data School, she not only became an advanced user of Tableau, Alteryx, and Power BI but also honed her management skills. She led a team on a sports-related client project and collaborated with a diverse range of clients, including airport, financial institution, manufacturing company, software provider, and sports organization.

Her projects included:

  • Data migration: Transitioned data from Exasol to Databricks in Tableau using SQL queries, optimizing functions, and upgrading clients' beta workbooks;

  • HR dashboards: Built dashboards for a manufacturing company, reducing over 30 hours of employee time per week;

  • Tableau demos: Designed Tableau dashboard demonstrations for a software company to showcase Tableau’s capabilities and support product sales;

  • Alteryx training: Delivered Alteryx training sessions to a global bank, helping participants prepare for and achieve Alteryx certification;

  • Dashboard templates: Developed Tableau dashboard templates to streamline and simplify the process of recording completed tasks.

Abby graduated from the City University of Hong Kong with a Master’s degree in Professional Accounting and Corporate Governance.

Outside of work, Abby enjoys rock climbing, practising aerial yoga and dancing.
