At the end of week 3, after just three and a half days of Alteryx training, DS 34 were tasked with completing the Alteryx Core Certification Exam. After having just completed the Micro Essentials Certification we, as a group, were confident... however slightly apprehensive. The following post will share my experience with the exam and some advice to anyone yet to undertake this exam.
Despite the fact that I technically failed the exam (with a score of 74%), there were a number of takeaways. By the fact that I now know exactly where I need to improve; where my strengths lie; have a greater confidence that I know in which direction I am heading, this was a completely worthwhile endeavor.
Some advice: Don't stress!! This is not a make or break or anyone's career. Treat this as a learning exercise and an opportunity to test your knowledge. If you are more relaxed, especially with the time, then information will become more readily available during the exam. Test your knowledge: Try an Alteryx challenge or two, it cannot hurt! The best way to test theory based knowledge is by employing it within a practical context. In other words the best way to get better is by practicing. Read up: The Alteryx guide to the certification is particularly useful! I found having this open during the exam was a very good reference point when I needed a little extra guidance.
Good Luck!!
