Today we were tasked with looking at income data from the OECD. But todays requirements were that we would have to do everything in Power BI and Power Query. We had to choose 2 data sets from the link
(https://data-explorer.oecd.org/?fs[0]=Topic%2C1%7CJobs%23JOB%23%7CEarnings%20and%20wages%23JOB_EW%23&pg=0&fc=Topic&bp=true&snb=8)
I decided to look into Mexico's income inequality and whether Minimum wage was helping to reduce income inequality. I also wanted to see what the relationship between income inequality and inflation was like. I knew that the link did not have any data regarding inflation so I found a website that I was able to download the data I needed for my analysis.
I also knew that I wanted to try and really have a good story of analysis that meant the audience was not left searching for the findings, I wanted to make sure that they were lead to whatever findings the data showed. So I thought that I would use different pages for Power BI and use page navigations to lead the user through the story.
I also wanted to have some regression analysis where I looked at predicting the effects of inflation as a result of changes to income inequality. This is a technique that I have wanted to try in Power BI and thought that today would be a good opportunity to try it out. I was unable to get it working properly by the time I had to present. But I will be updating the dashboard once I do figure it out.
