And finally after 7 weeks of watching my cohort members take up the role of Project Manager, it is now my turn. After a short call last week to introduce myself to some of the client's team, and some initial research over the weekend, we started the day with the kickoff meeting - where we met the Co-Founder and CEO of the company! At first this seemed slightly daunting but after a few minutes everyone seemed very settled and enjoying speaking to this week's client to find out what we'd be doing this week.
After this, we were then left to our own devices to dive into the data we had been given and, for myself specifically, to decide how we were going to achieve the goal we had been set by our client. When I hadn't been PM in previous weeks this always appeared to be a fairly easy thing to distribute amongst ourselves, however I found it that it definitely isn't as easy as it looks - it took a lot longer than expected just to decide how we should break the work up amongst the team - so this was some really valuable experience to get.
Now the work has been divided by the team, tomorrow afternoon we can crack on with sketching out some ideas of how we will bring this altogether, with the idea being that we can get to Tableau later tomorrow and Thursday afternoon. A couple more calls will be had with the client along the way too, but all-in-all things seem to be on track - fingers crossed for more of the same tomorrow!
