Sometimes you have to do what you have to do - Dashboard Week Day 2

by David Sánchez

Sometimes you have to do what you have to do.

We were supposed to work with story points to tell an analytical insight today, using data about the different expectations across the globe when finding a romantic partner (from YouGov.uk).
Good news: data prep was much easier than yesterday.
Bad news: overconfidence, distraction and lack of creativity/ideas took the best of me. I spent a good part of the morning looking at the already clean data trying to figure out what to do. Eventually, I had a small idea and decided to pursue it. Hit a road block soon after, but George was at the rescue suggesting using an n-dimensional minimum distance (which are the options that minimize the distance from the vector formed by taking your 6 traits in the order you select?).
That actually worked quite OK. What didn’t quite work as expected was dynamically modifying the story points at the end of the day. At this point, it was too late to go back. So the only way out was forward. Add some (pink) glittering to distract the views and hope that tomorrow is a better day!
